Post-Operative Instructions

Bruising and swelling. Light ice bag or ice compress application, 5 minutes on and 5 minutes off for 12 to 24 hours will help control this. If there is discernible lumpiness after two weeks, digital pressure may be applied to the area for approximately ten seconds several times per day to help resolve this. This should not be done unless there is very noticeable swelling. Too much pressure may cause more resorption than desired of the fat graft.
