How do I get started?
You will first have a skin evaluation to determine your particular skin type based on the BioMedic Skin Classification System.
Skin classifications include the following types:
Based on your result, you will be instructed on how to properly care for your skin with the BioMedic Home Treatment Program.
The BioMedic Products are specially formulated for each particular skin type. Most importantly, the products can be used alone
or in a conjunction with the BioMedic skin treatment known as the MicroPeel.
What is the Micropeel?
The Micropeel is a three-step process that removes a micro-thin layer of skin. The top layer is a significant obstruction
to having better skin because it is pore-clogged. The procedure is safe, effective and is accomplished in 15-20 minutes.
The first step is a five minute, physical or enzymatic exfoliation of the skin which frees the skin of dead cellular
layers and protein. Reducing the top layer of the skin lessens the appearance of fine lines and brown spots. A change in
skin texture can be felt right away by brushing your hands across your cheek.
In the second step, a 15-30 percent Alpha Hydroxy Acid solution is applied. It will stay on the skin for at least
15 seconds, but nor more than 2 minutes. A slight stinging sensation may be felt, but it is only momentary and quite normal.
This part of the Micropeel helps to reduce acne-related conditions by freeing impacted debris from the pores. This step
is not recommended for sensitive skin.
The third and final step of the MicroPeel is a skin freezing process called Cryogenic Therapy. Carbon dioxide is applied
to the face in light, circular motions. Immediately the coolness causes an anti-inflammatory response. Pores look smaller.
Sun damaged cells are taken off. Oil and blackheads are unblocked. The surface of the skin becomes smoother.
How often would I have to have this treatment?
Similar to a facial, we recommend a monthly treatment. Depending on your skin type, however, treatments two times per
month may produce a more dramatic result.
How will I look after the first treatment?
Unlike a facial, most people will notice a change in the skin right away. You can apply your make-up immediately
following the procedure.
Can this type of treatment be bad for my skin?
If your are pregnant, lactating, taking Accutane or have a chronic history of cold sores, we do not recommend this
treatment. You should also be aware that since any exfoliation increased photosensitivity to the sun, you must use sun
protection. You should also sign an informed consent before you begin the skin care program.
Can I use BioMedic without having a Micropeel?
Absolutely! Keep in mind that it will take longer to see results and the effects may be less dramatic.
How much will the BioMedic Program cost?
The BioMedic Home Treatment Program is very affordable. The Home Treatment Kit is $130-$200, depending on your skin type.
The cleanser and condition will last 2-3 months. The gels, creams and sunblocks will last 4-6 months.
The MicroPeel will vary in price depending on the different areas of your face and body that you may treat.
However, generally speaking, the price of MicroPeel is consistent with the price of a facial.
Your skin is basically made up of two layers. The top layer you see is called the epidermis and measures on average age,
only 1/1000 of an inch. Since this micro thin layer is often exposed to environmental effects (ie. sun and air pollution),
it is frequently damaged. Damaged skin obscures clarity, even skin tone, uniform color and better texture.
Additionally, the way your skin looks is determined by the health of your second skin layer, the dermas. Making sound
lifestyle decisions will go a long way towards strengthening and maintaining the dermis: a healthy diet, exercise, enough
sleep, no smoking or alcohol and use of sunblocks.
Correcting the skin by exfoliation: To exfoliate the skin is to rid the skin of its dead cellular debris. The shed its
top layer. In the past, this was accomplished with products such as facial scrubs, loofas or in some cases with traditional
chemical peels. These peels are one-session procedures that require recovery time.
Today, the technologies of medicine and science offer a more sophisticated method - a new program that has been endorsed
by doctors around the world. The BioMedic MicroPeel is safe, painless and wonderfully effective.
