Nasal Surgery (Rhinoplasty)
Today our goals in performing nasal surgery are twofold: to create a natural, attractive, and artistically
contoured appearance while correcting any structural abnormalities that prevent proper breathing. Because of
today's improved surgical techniques, safer and more comfortable anesthesia, and faster recovery, this procedure
is one of the more frequently requested in our office.
The result, in part, depends on your basic anatomy, and it is imperative that you discuss your goals in detail with
the doctor. A clear understanding of the procedure and its limitations will prevent disappointment due to unrealistic
expectations. Most patients are very pleased with their results.
Nasal surgery, which can be performed on patients as young as fourteen or well into their sixties, takes one to two
hours, and can be performed either in a surgical facility or in a hospital. It can also be performed in combination with chin or
other facial surgery.
Despite old rumors, a properly performed nasal operation rarely results in any detrimental voice change.
In fact, many have noticed improvement.
